Every session at the wheel for this series drew blood. Raw black clay, packed with coarse stone inclusions — the stones cut, the clay resisted, my body pushed back.

Finished by hand after throwing, these objects are shaped by force and stubbornness — by the refusal to use easier materials or gentler methods.
